Shenzhen Civic Center Light Show: A Dazzling Night Spectacle in the Heart of the City

As an iconic night attraction of Shenzhen, the Civic Center Light Show takes the Futian Central Area as its core, linking 43 high-rise buildings and 5 public open spaces. It perfectly integrates high-tech light effects with urban prosperity, presenting a stunning visual feast. This free light performance is a must-see night experience for every traveler visiting Shenzhen.

The show time adjusts with seasons. From November to March (winter and spring), it starts at 19:00, 20:00 and 21:00 daily; from April to October (summer and autumn), the show times are 19:30, 20:30 and 21:30, each lasting about 15 minutes. The animated light show is only available on Fridays, Saturdays, legal holidays (except Qingming Festival) and the day before holidays. For other periods, only regular landscape lighting is on or the lights are turned off. Some special dates have no performances, so please confirm the latest notice before departure.

There are two best viewing spots: Civic Center Square allows you to immerse yourself in the combination of lights and music at close range, with horizontal or upward viewing angles ideal for photos. However, reservations are required via the “Futian Central Area Night View Lighting Reservation Guide Service” mini-program, and children under 1.2 meters can enter for free with an adult. The top of Lianhuashan Park requires no reservation, offering a panoramic view of the light show and the city skyline. It’s perfect for capturing the overall layout, so it’s recommended to reach the top in advance to secure a spot.

Public transportation is preferred. Take Metro Line 2 or Line 4 to Civic Center Station, and walk from Exit A or F. Parking spaces nearby are scarce and traffic control is common, so self-driving is not recommended. Travel light as tripods, drones, pets and other items are prohibited.
