Xichong, also known as Xiyong, is situated at the southernmost tip of Shenzhen’s Dapeng Peninsula, under the jurisdiction of Nan’ao Sub-district in Dapeng New District. It is a Coastal resort preserving primitive Natural Scenery. In 2006, Dapeng Peninsula, where Xichong is located, was rated as one of China’s eight most beautiful Coastlines by Chinese National Geography. Backed by Qiniang Mountain, Shenzhen’s second-highest mountain, and facing the South China Sea, it offers a view of Sanmen Island and Moon Island. With crystal-clear blue seawater and a 4.5-km silver sandy beach, it is hailed as the “Oriental Hawaii”.

There are diverse core experiences for visitors. Outdoor enthusiasts must try the classic Dongchong-Xichong Coastal Hike, a 10-km trail showcasing magnificent cliffside and sea views with blooming flowers along the way. On the beach, you can swim, play beach volleyball, tug-of-war, take a speedboat to Lover’s Island, or enjoy helicopter tours and diving. As an international dark-sky community, Xichong’s nights are particularly charming. After sunset, fireflies flit along the riverside greenway, twinkling with the starry sky, making it a perfect spot for stargazing.
The local cuisine and accommodation are also distinctive. Signature dishes include kiln-roasted chicken, sea urchin fried rice, and fresh seafood. There are large bamboo-shed barbecue spots near the beach, allowing you to barbecue with the sea breeze. For accommodation, you can choose sea-view inns in Hesou Village, cost-effective guesthouses in Xinwu Village, or beach cabins. Some villas have private courtyards leading directly to the beach, catering to different travel needs.
