Nestled along the southern Coastal area of Bao’an Central District in Shenzhen, a new urban landmark integrating ecology, Culture, commerce and entertainment shines brightly – this is Shenzhen Happy Harbour. As a national 4A-level tourist attraction, Happy Harbour is positioned as “the Heart of the International Bay Area and a Creative Hub for Coastal Life”, covering a total area of approximately 380,000 square meters. Since its opening, it has received nearly 40 million visitors and repeatedly topped the list of Shenzhen’s scenic spots in terms of holiday reception, becoming an iconic destination that embodies the city’s vitality and romance.

The soul landmark of Happy Harbour is the 128-meter-high “Bay Glory” Ferris wheel. As China’s first all-panoramic cabin Ferris wheel, it boasts 28 fully transparent imported cabins, each capable of carrying 25 passengers. During the 28-minute rotation, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the Qianhai Bay Coastline and the urban scenery of Bao’an Central District. In the evening, the cabins are dyed orange by the setting sun, and the light show illuminates the tower after dusk. Whether it’s a customized high-altitude wedding or a parent-child cloud walk, it offers a unique perspective of the Bay Area. The wishing area under the Ferris wheel has become a popular spot for couples and families to capture wonderful moments.

The integration of nature and humanity is vividly displayed in the 270,000-square-meter Coastal Cultural Park. This park, which has won the Honor Award for Planning and Design from the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), is divided into three areas: Celebration Square, Art Park and Sports Park. As the core event venue, Celebration Square hosts the stunning “Dream of Kunpeng” water show every night. Inspired by “Zhuangzi·Xiaoyaoyou”, the show combines fountains, light and shadow, music and drones to tell the story of Shenzhen’s take-off. It is staged at 20:00 on weekdays and an additional 21:00 show on weekends and holidays, offering a 15-minute audio-visual feast. The Art Park is dotted with sculptures and offers changing scenery at every step, while the Sports Park provides diverse activity spaces for families and young people. The lawn surrounded by palm trees is perfect for picnics and camping, and the four-season flowering trail is a preferred place for citizens to walk and relax.
The in-depth integration of Culture, art and commercial experience makes Happy Harbour more than just a scenic spot. The “Bay Voice” Shenzhen Coastal Art Center, designed by the renowned architect Rocco Yim, takes the shape of “water eroding stone”. With a 1,500-seat grand theater and a 600-seat multi-functional theater, it stages high-quality performances such as dramas and concerts all year round, becoming a first-class art exhibition platform in China. Zhongshuge, known as Shenzhen’s “most beautiful bookstore”, is located in the East Coast Commercial Block. Its spiral bookshelves and dome book walls create a magical scholarly atmosphere, where the aroma of coffee blends with the sea breeze, making it a sanctuary for literary youth to enjoy quiet time. The East and West Coast Commercial Blocks have their own characteristics: the East Coast gathers fashion aesthetics, global cuisine and children’s experience formats, while the West Coast focuses on trendy sports and casual food, paired with an extreme sports Park, urban beach and children’s playground, forming an immersive consumption scenario suitable for all ages.
